Dublin #2

This trip to Dublin was especially exciting because it was the first time I invited the ladies from my walking group to join me. Seeing this become a reality felt like a dream come true, and I'm already looking forward to organizing many more trips together.
We arrived in Dublin to beautiful hot and sunny weather. Our first stop was the stunning Howth Cliffs. The hike took us around two hours because we kept stopping to take photos – the views were simply too beautiful to resist!
The blue sky, the sparkling sea, and the breathtaking coastal path made it an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this walk to anyone visiting Dublin. This time it was packed with people, probably because of the half-term holiday or maybe simply because everyone wanted to enjoy the sunshine.
Our plan for the day was to learn about Dublin's Jewish history and then head to the restaurant at 4 pm.
At around 2 pm, one of the ladies suggested that I call the restaurant to double-check their opening hours. I'm so glad I listened to her! The last time I visited, they closed at 5 pm, but they had recently changed their hours and were now closing at 3:30 pm.
We immediately changed our plans and headed straight to the restaurant. The journey took us about an hour, and thankfully we arrived just in time.
Lesson learned: never rely completely on Google Maps or on previous visits. It's always worth making a quick phone call to check the latest information!
We really needed some hot food after our hike, and sharing a lovely meal together gave us the energy to continue our adventure.
After lunch, we met my friend, who showed us some of the history of the Jewish community in Dublin. Although much of that community no longer exists in the way it once did, it was fascinating to learn about its story and see the places connected to it.
thing that caught my eye at the airport was a large photograph of Dublin's famous colourful doors. Later, during our walk around the city, I spotted some of them and stopped to take a few photos. I learned that because many of Dublin's Georgian houses were built to look almost identical, homeowners painted their front doors in different colours to give each house its own character.
Later, we headed into the city centre, which was absolutely packed with people enjoying the beautiful weather. Before we knew it, it was time to make our way back to the airport.
For me, it was a wonderful day out with the ladies and a new experience bringing others along on one of my trips. We laughed, explored, learned, and created special memories together.
Sometimes it's so important to step away from everyday life, explore somewhere new, and breathe a different kind of energy.
Until the next adventure...
