Some Nice Places to Explore Around Manchester
Many people ask me about nice places to visit and nice walks, and because I really enjoy exploring new places, I thought it would be nice to share some of the places I have been to.
Saltaire is a beautiful Victorian village in Yorkshire and it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We went there mainly because I wanted to see Salts Mill. It is an old textile mill which has been turned into something completely different. Today you can find exhibitions, art, shops, cafés and more inside the old building.
I really liked seeing how this old building was transformed and given a completely new life.
From Saltaire we went to Ilkley, which is a lovely little town in Yorkshire.
We just walked around and explored the streets, looked in some of the little shops and charity shops and enjoyed the atmosphere.
We happened to come on a market day, so the town was quite busy and lively, which made it even more enjoyable.
From there we went to Cow and Calf Rocks.
The rocks are huge and really impressive. There are different walks you can do there, but even if you don't want to do a proper hike, it is worth going just to see the huge rocks, walk around them and enjoy the views.
We actually planned to do a proper hike, but in the end we stayed nearby and did a shorter walk.
The views were beautiful and I would definitely recommend it.
Finishing the day in Leeds
After that we travelled to Leeds and finished the day at Marlows British Kitchen.
They have certified kosher dining on Thursdays from 4pm to 9pm and Sundays from 12pm to 9pm.
We went on a Sunday and really enjoyed having a nice meal after a full day of exploring.

Some more places to explore
I often get asked about nice places to go for a walk or a day out.
I really enjoy exploring new places and I have discovered quite a few nice walks around Manchester and the surrounding areas.
Some of them are proper hikes where you need to follow a map, and I have recorded many of the routes I have done on AllTrails.

If you want to go a little further
If you feel like travelling a bit further, there are some really beautiful places that are worth making a day of.
We visited Ingleton Waterfalls recently. It is around a 3 and a half hour walk with beautiful waterfalls and scenery along the way. Definitely one for a day when you feel like doing a longer walk.
Another idea for a full day out is the Peak District.
You can visit Mam Tor, which is a beautiful mountain ridge with amazing views.
After the walk, you can also visit some of the caves in the area, so you can make a really nice full day out of it.
There are so many lovely places to explore around Manchester and a little further away.
